The Westfield PAL sponsors competitive tackle football travel teams for 3rd - 8th graders.

The teams will participate in the North Jersey Suburban Youth Football League (NJSYFL).

All registrants will be placed according to their grade in September 2024 (there are no tryouts).

The season will kick off with a mandatory "Training Camp" that will likely commence on August 12, 2024.

As the success of the Westfield PAL youth athletic programs has continued to grow over the past several years, the need for volunteer help has continued to increase. Going forward, we are asking all participating families to play a small role in helping out our volunteer coaches, staff and directors. 

As a condition of your child's registration with the PAL, at least one parent or guardian for each participating family (who isn't on the coaching staff) may be asked to assist during practices, games or match days at some point during the season. These non-coach volunteers will be part of a support pool managed by a team parent with volunteer schedules set at the beginning of the year.

Assuming full participation, we don't believe this will be a huge ask; especially considering our coaches and directors will be putting in countless hours of work on a weekly basis. If there are days you are unavailable to volunteer or have a special circumstance that prevents you from volunteering, please note this in the Team Staff section and we will try and accommodate your situation.

Volunteer duties include game day chain operation (chain gang), providing orange slices for players at half time, spotters and announcers as well as concession sales. If you are interested in being an administrative team parent or coach, please note that in the Team Staff section of registration.

Welcome to the 2024 Westfield PAL Co-Ed Flag Football program! For those players and families who have played in our league in prior years, welcome back! For our new families, we welcome you to our program.

 

 

Now let's dive into the electrifying world of the Westfield PAL Flag Football Co-Ed program and discover a game experience like never before! Since 1998, we've been igniting the flame of football passion in kids from 1st to 9th grade and this year we will be adding a new division to include 10th-12th graders. Due to the popularity of the program the Westfield PAL Co-Ed Flag Football program is ONLY open to Westfield residents, those attending school in Westfield, or others who have played with us for 2 or more years.

 

But it's not just about the game; it's about fostering enduring friendships, learning the ins and outs of football, and embracing sportsmanship like true champions. Our program isn't just about touchdowns and flag pulls; it's about the laughter, the camaraderie, and the memories that last a lifetime. Join us and discover the excitement of the Westfield PAL Flag Football Co-Ed program - where every moment is a touchdown of fun!

 

 

All games are played on Saturday mornings at Tamaques Park located off of Lamberts Mill Road in Westfield (Tamaques Park is also accessible from Dickson Drive). The 2024 season kicks off on September 14th and concluding on November 23rd; Playoffs for the older divisions end on November 24th.

 

 

Westfield Girls Flag Football continues, WHOOT WHOOT! The Girls Flag league will have two age groups; 2nd-4th grade and 5th-8th grade and will be playing at Tamaques in the 11:45-1PM time slot. With that said, the "traditional" flag football program will continue to be coed and welcomes both boys and girls; girls are free to choose which league they wish to play in and 2nd-6th grader girls are welcome to play in both leagues if they're up for a morning of flag filled action! NOTE: Girls Flag Football requires a separate sign-up! 

 

 

The 2024 Mini Camp will be held on Saturday September 7th, 830am-930am for 7th-12th grade, 10am-11am for 4th-6th grade and 1130am-1230pm for 1st-3rd grade (7th-12th graders are welcome to hang out after their minicamp to run drills for the younger kids).

 

We urge volunteers and coaches to participate as your involvement and support are crucial to our program's success. Our MANDATORY coaches meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 5th, at 8pm. All coaches must undergo a required background check.

 

 

 

The cost for registration will be $120 per player, with a family limit of $360. Save $20 during early registration, which will run through July 14th. Additionally, a late fee of $20 per player will be assessed starting August 19th, and registration will close on September 1st.

The PAL Cheerleading Program is open to 3rd through 8th graders.

This is an excellent opportunity to introduce your young athlete to this sport, learn cheers, dances, and stunts in preparation for high school cheerleading. Cheerleading provides a great opportunity for kids to improve their coordination, increase strength, and have fun along the way.  

Our programs focus on learning the fundamentals of Cheerleading, instilling solid values and having fun! PAL sponsors the following programs: 

ELEMENTARY and MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAMS - Grades 3rd – 8th: 

This program is for both beginner and experienced cheerleaders in grades 3rd – 8th and serves as the feeder program for the High School Teams. This is a 2 tier program that allows both cheer families and cheerleaders the opportunity to find the best fit for them and their schedules. The season kicks off with a skills day, in July, followed by Summer Camp in late August. Cheerleaders are taught the basics of the sport, while developing cheer skills, safety, teamwork, and leadership skills with an emphasis on having fun. Registration cost includes the cheer camps and clinics, team practices, practice shirts, team bows, and the rental of team uniform and pompoms. 

Registration for the 2024 Westfield PAL Cheerleading Season for the ELEMENTARY and MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAMS program will close on May 31st, 2024.
